Cash in on World Cup fever

From the recent report that has been stated that the Australian Communications and Media Authority is giving warning to the people to be careful on those spammers trying to cash in on World Cup fever.

According to the report that the ACMA recently has reported to receive reports of a variety of scams claiming to be linked to the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament that offer considerable cash prizes when they decided to give a cash advance prior to the team they wanted to win in World Cup. If recipients go to declare the reward they are asked to make available their bank details and other personal information.

‘Increasingly, spam scammers are framing their messages around topical events, such as the World Cup. These types of messages typically come in waves, and play on people’s enhanced interest in the event as a hook.” said ACMA Chairman Chris Chapman.

At the same time as the ACMA has received only a small number of reports of the World Cup messages to date, it is influencing most of the consumers to be careful seeing that the numbers of these scammers are probable to raise.
