Google Wallet – Google’s Latest Baby
Google Wallet has recently been launched as the latest mobile payment technology of Google. It is available to the public through an application that is downloadable from a mobile phone network in the United States.
Google Wallet is used with phones that contain a special chip with Near Field Communications (NFC) technology. With this, it is vying to replace credit cards as the new innovation can be used in making payments at shops.
A trial is on in New York and San Francisco since May where 1000 employees of Google and its partners in the venture are joining. MasterCard and Macy’s department stores also join the trial.
Sprint Network customers who have Nexus S phones (phones that can run with Google’s Android operating system) will now be able to download the application on their phones allowing them to make payments while shopping. In order to use the technology, people only have sign up for a Citi MasterCard or a Google Prepaid Card.
Visa, American Express, and Discover Cards are starting to work with Google so that these will also be made available in the future versions of Google Wallet.
“Our goal is to make it possible for you to add all of your payment cards to Google Wallet, so you can say goodbye to even the biggest traditional wallets. This is still just the beginning, and while we’re excited about this first step, we look forward to bringing Google Wallet to more phones in the future,” said Osama Bedier, Vice President of Google Payments.
In all 300,000 shops and other outlets in the US, as well as in other parts of the world that accept MasterCard Pay-pass, the technology can be used.
Security is not an issue since Google has the authority and power to remotely disable the wallet function. A PIN is required for every transaction.
Shops that have readers include Bloomingdale’s Department Store, McDonald’s, 7-11, Best Buy, Foot Locker, and BP. Meanwhile, Tesco and Boots and Burker King from the UK have joined in.
New York and San Francisco are the places where the focus of the sales is placed.
“We respect trade secrets and will defend ourselves against these claims;” said Google.
A video on YouTube is available featuring George Costanza as the first customer of Google Wallet.
And while Google Wallet is still not available for everyone, Payday loans Australia is still around to provide financial assistance to those who qualify to their terms. The simple requirements include the applicant to be aged above 18 years, with an active checking account, and a job to ensure that the borrowed money will be returned.
Payday loans are also very accessible as they have a website that can be accessed by anyone who has a computer and an internet connection. By just filling out the online application form and submitting this to the admin, instant cash may be on its way. There is no need to fax or present any identification.
Instant cash will not even need any form of collateral, so all properties are safe in the hands of the applicant.
