Prime Minister Julia Gillard to Retain Grip on Power
Another two votes from two independents Rob Oakeshott and Tony Windsor, has broken the political deadlock by giving their votes to Prime Minister Julia Gillard in a cause for Labour minority Government. Gillard had expressed its desire to help in finding a common ground with the Coalition as Labor heads into its second term in the government pledging that she will be working aimlessly for the Australian people.
The two independents choose Gillard over Abbot after securing a $9.9 billion package or regional infrastructure, health and education.
Gillard said, “Labor is prepared to deliver, stable, effective and secure government for the next three years,” she said.
“Let our Parliament be more open than it ever was before”.
“I know that if we fail in this solemn responsibility, we will be judged harshly when we next face the Australian people.”
Gillard who won the ruling for Prime Minister position has beaten Mr. Abbott and the latter also confirmed his stand on leadership once again when the party room meets on Thursday.
He said, that it was indeed an amazing journey over the last nine months and he also said that there will some challenges but he ensures that he is not the best Opposition Leader that had never become a Prime Minister.
The decisions that overboard the voting of Gillard is that it has out the broadband, and regional education and as well as climate change as key factors why it came to that decision when Gillard was favored.
Mr. Windsor recalled that, “”There’s been background noise and a little bit louder than background noise, that if there’s a hung Parliament with the Coalition in government that they’d rush off to the polls as soon as they could.”
