Texas Cash Advance denied
From the recent news that has been all across the country of Texas stated that denied status of the cash advance. According to the report the BP denied a July 5 request from Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott for a $25 million “block grant,” related to cash advances for clean up that BP gave to all other Gulf Coast states. In line with the rejection of almost $25 million cash advance requested from Texas.
However even the BP denied this request they stated an agreement to pay Texas for clean-up costs as they come to pass, and pledged $5 million for the Texas Coastal Protection Fund, which is intended for oil spill responses. Last July 12 a letter from BP sent to Reuters in accordance to the advance more clean-up funds as soon as possible.
“BP has taken steps to ensure every other Gulf Coast state is prepared to respond, yet you shortchange the state in which you have chosen to domicile – and whose beaches you threaten with tar balls,” reads one passage of the response letter given to Reuters.
